About Us

So, what exactly is Bayloop?

Bayloop is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating more livable and equitable cities through better urban planning and ending homelessness. We believe that well-designed, people-centered cities can foster stronger communities, economic opportunity, sustainability, and human flourishing. Our mission is to advocate for and enable urban development that prioritizes affordable housing, walkability, public transit, green spaces, and social services.

Our Story

Bayloop was founded by Husam Ramadan, a second-generation immigrant from Egypt to the United States inspired to take action after witnessing poverty and homelessness firsthand. Since then, with a group of truly wonderful people, we have strived to create solutions that close the loop on disparities in housing, transit, economic mobility and more.

Bayloop believes well-designed, people-centered cities can foster stronger communities, economic opportunity, sustainability and human flourishing. We advocate for urban development that prioritizes affordable housing, walkability, public transit, green spaces and social services.

Bayloop champions people-first urban planning across the country – uplifting individuals and communities through thoughtful design. Just as highways loop around cities, we build interconnected pathways out of poverty by improving the built environment.
